As testimonies to the generosity of God’s love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

Grateful for all these wondrous blessings!
My daughter and I had been estranged for several years. I prayed to Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother to reunite us. Words cannot express how my heart was filled with joy when we were reunited. I am blessed to be in my daughter’s life again. I have also been given renewed health by way of a heart stent. After the procedure, my doctor said I was lucky to be alive. I am so thankful and grateful that I would never be able to shout it loudly enough. I praise God every day for all these wondrous blessings he has bestowed upon me.

Grateful for everyone’s prayers!
My sisters and I were agonizing over a difficult decision about our mother’s care—whether she needed to live in an assisted living facility or continue to live at home alone. I prayed for spiritual guidance and requested a Votive Light to burn at Our Lady’s Shrine in Perryville. I asked for help to make the best decision for our mother and our family. Within a week, we had our answer. We all decided independently that it would be best for mom to move into the assisted living facility. Trying to make this decision as a family had caused much turmoil and stress for all involved. God did help us make this decision, and I am so grateful for everyone’s prayers.

Our family suffered a tragedy with the loss of my younger brother. I found a Miraculous Medal prayer card that I had in my Bible. I started to pray every day even though I did not have the actual medal. I promised Our Blessed Mother that I would get one as soon as I could. A few days later, I received a beautiful Miraculous Medal in my mailbox from Our Lady’s Association. I am so grateful to have received this medal. My prayers were answered. Now I have a Miraculous Medal to hold or wear while I pray.

Several years ago, I was leaving work late at night. Freezing rain was falling, and ice was accumulating on the roads. As I was traveling home, an on-coming car spun around and was literally facing the front of my vehicle. I felt a tug as I braked my car. I did not spin, but stopped on a dime, avoiding an accident. I was wearing my Miraculous Medal at the time. I thanked Our Blessed Mother for watching over and protecting me and the other driver.

My prayers were heard!
Five years ago, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which had traveled to his brain. After brain surgery to remove a tumor, chemotherapy, and radiation, he was cancer-free for five years. At his recent brain MRI follow-up, an area of enhancement was detected. An additional MRI of his spine and a spinal tap indicated that cancer cells were in his spinal fluid, a very serious problem. I have always prayed to God for his help and also to Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, for her intercession, as my husband and I wear her medal. My husband was given the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial for his cancer. I asked God, Our Mother Mary, and Saint Therese of the Little Flower to send me a sign that we were choosing the right treatment for him. On the day of my husband’s surgery to place a port in his head for the cancer medication to be administered, his nurse in pre- surgery said her name was Rose. I thought, could this be a sign from Saint Therese? Then, the volunteer in the surgery waiting area introduced herself to me as Mary. Again, I thought, could this be a sign from our Mother Mary, assuring me that my prayers for my husband were heard? His surgery went well, and after some time in recovery, -I was able to see him. A nurse came in to take his vital signs. It was then that I received my third sign. The nurse’s name was Miracle. I knew then that it was not a coincidence. These women, Rose, Mary, and Miracle were there to reassure me that my prayers were heard.

A deep devotion and love for the Miraculous Medal!
My father-in-law was going through a difficult time in the 1970s. His mother gave him a Miraculous Medal which he wore daily. Recently when he became ill, he gave his Miraculous Medal to his wife to wear. My father-in-law was taken home by Our Lord on November 27, 2021. We were told of his death on November 28, 2021. We then realized that November 27 is the feast day of the Miraculous Medal and November 28 is the feast day of Saint Catherine Labouré. I truly believe my father-in- law was ushered into heaven by Our Blessed Mother, and Saint Catherine Labouré because of his deep devotion and love for the Miraculous Medal.

Our Lady’s intercession is truly miraculous!
My spouse has a terminal illness for which there is only a 20% survival rate. So many people, some as far away as South America, pray continually for his healing. He is slowly on the path to recovery. It is a miracle that he is one of 20% in the population of patients who suffer with this terminal illness and continue to survive. I know Mother Mary continues to intercede for him. She has done a great job so far. I pray every day to Our Lady. Her intercession is truly miraculous!

The power of prayer is remarkable!
At my wedding in 1966, I knelt before the statue of our Mother Mary and humbly asked that she please remain beside me and my husband no matter what circumstances we might encounter during our marriage. My husband was pronounced clinically dead in our home in 2003 when his heart stopped beating for more than 15 minutes. During the ambulance ride to the hospital, as I prayed to Mary for strength, the paramedic announced he had just found a pulse and felt signs of life in my husband. In the hospital, my husband opened his eyes and looked at me. He said my name, which was truly a miracle. During this time, I felt Mother Mary close by. I know it was through her intercession that my husband’s life was spared, and that I was blessed with all the support and love I was going to need in the days ahead. Today, my husband is doing well. The power of prayer is remarkable, strong, and peaceful.

Prayer to Our Lady for Healing
Mary Immaculate, you have given yourself to us as Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. You have asked us to pray with confidence, and we will receive great graces. We know your compassion, because you saw your Son suffer and die for us. In your union with His suffering, you became the mother of us all.
Mary, my mother, teach me to understand my suffering as you do and to endure it in union with the suffering of Jesus. In your motherly love, calm my fears and increase my trust in God’s loving care.
According to God’s plan, obtain for me the healing I need. Intercede with your Son that I may have the strength I need to work for God’s glory and the salvation of the world.
