As testimonies to the generosity of God’s love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

Twelve years ago, my marriage was in serious trouble. I prayed the Memorare faithfully and fervently several times a day. Our Lady heard my prayers. I have now been happily married since that time and celebrated 51 years of marriage. I truly believe, without a doubt, that Mary interceded on my behalf. Thank you so much, Mother Mary!

I am replying to your personal letter to me, which I received in January of this year. I cannot believe you actually read my request for prayers for my cancer surgery and then sent me a beautiful letter. Thank you! I am doing well, and my doctor said he was able to remove all of the cancer. I am healing and feeling better each day. It is through the prayers and support of so many that this has been possible. The Miraculous Medal and prayer leaflet you sent me have been a great source of comfort. Through my cancer journey, I have met others who are also struggling. I plan to share the prayer leaflet and Miraculous Medal with others who need Mary, like I did. May God bless you.

I know it was Mary’s intercession that helped him!
I received my Miraculous Medal in November of last year. Being a convert, I didn’t know much about the story. I put the medal on and began to pray to Our Blessed Mother for my husband. He had just gone into the hospital for heart surgery. He had a very hard time after a quadruple bypass and a second surgery for the implant of a defibrillator. He then had a small stroke and was in very bad shape. He was moved to an acute care rehab hospital with long-term care and then to a nursing home. After 12 weeks, I was finally able to bring him home. During that time, I never took off my Miraculous Medal. My husband has made a miraculous recovery—physically and mentally—with just a few minor issues still remaining. Several doctors say that he is a miracle, but I know that it was Mary’s intercession that helped him. Thank you so much for sending the Miraculous Medal to me. I plan to wear it all the time.

I truly believe the Miraculous Medal is just that—miraculous!
I always wear my Miraculous Medal. I pinned one to the visor in my husband’s truck because he still works full time and tries to duck hunt full time as well. In November of last year, he fell asleep at the wheel after duck hunting and didn’t wake up until his truck hit the guardrail. The truck went airborne and was stopped by the rock bluffs along the river road. The truck was totaled, but he didn’t have a scratch on him. I truly believe the Miraculous Medal is just that—miraculous! I’ve given away hundreds of medals as a way of saying thanks to Our Blessed Mother for her intercession. My husband’s friends who hear his story are now asking for a Miraculous Medal of their own. Thanks be to God and his Blessed Mother.

My son and daughter-in-law tried for years to have a baby. They went to many experts. One day I gave my daughter-in-law a Miraculous Medal. She gave it to a friend who was also having difficulty getting pregnant. My son and daughter-in-law both knew of my love for Our Blessed Mother and that I was praying for her intercession for them. Several months later, my daughter-in-law learned she was pregnant. Her doctor was shocked. He couldn’t believe it. Early this morning, my little granddaughter came into the world. We call her “our little miracle.” Thank you, Mother Mary.

I want to thank Our Blessed Mother for interceding for my oldest daughter, who found employment, and for my younger daughter, who received a three-year work permit in Canada. My prayers were answered!
I am a fairly new member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal. I’ve asked for my grandson to be remembered at the Shrine. He was in a desperate situation in 2018. In September 2018 and January 2019, you wrote letters to me about my grandson, which really touched my heart. I shared the letters with my daughter. She cried when she read them because they were so moving and beautiful. I now see changes in my grandson. He goes to church, has a job, and even visits with me. I feel sure my prayers for him were answered through Mary’s intercession with her Son.

In March 2013, I was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. At 51 years of age, my world came crashing down. The cancer affected all areas of my life—physical, emotional, and financial. I wasn’t even a smoker. I had to have four years of chemotherapy. Throughout my cancer journey, I prayed to Our Blessed Mother for healing intercession through her Son, Jesus. I have been in remission for three years. My oncologist calls me his miracle girl. I wear my Miraculous Medal daily and pray the Rosary. When I become anxious or frightened, I pray to Our Lady, and she helps to calm me.

Prayer to Our Lady for Healing
Mary Immaculate, you have given yourself to us as Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. You have asked us to pray with confidence, and we will receive great graces. We know your compassion, because you saw your Son suffer and die for us. In your union with His suffering, you became the mother of us all.
Mary, my mother, teach me to understand my suffering as you do and to endure it in union with the suffering of Jesus. In your motherly love, calm my fears and increase my trust in God’s loving care.
According to God’s plan, obtain for me the healing I need. Intercede with your Son that I may have the strength I need to work for God’s glory and the salvation of the world.
