Independence Day Prayer
Father in heaven, creator of all and source of all life, love, and liberty, receive our heartfelt gratitude for your gift of religious and civil freedom for all Americans, won at great cost by our forefathers in faith.
Thank you for all the graces and blessings you continue to bestow upon us, spiritual and temporal: the inestimable gift of our faith, salvation obtained through the suffering and death of your Son, forgiveness, food and shelter, our health, and the love we have for one another.
Grant us the fortitude and humility we need to choose always the authentic freedom that comes from living in accord with your most holy will.
This we ask in the name of Christ Jesus, through Our Blessed Mother, Mary.
Amen.
