Christ, the Savior, is born!
Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright.
This beautiful hymn was written by a young priest and set to music in Germany in 1818. “Stille Nacht” is still sung around the world. Today, perhaps more than ever, its timeless message of heavenly peace and redeeming grace offers comfort and hope found in Christ the Savior.
The Association of the Miraculous Medal invites you to share the wonder and joy of Christmas by sending one of our beautiful Christmas cards to relatives and friends. More than thoughtful greetings, these spiritual gifts remind those who receive them of the real reason for the season: God’s gift of his Son, Jesus Christ, whose very name means “the One who saves.” In him alone we find true peace.
Your Christmas card recipients will be remembered in an octave of Masses beginning on Christmas Day at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. They will also be lifted in prayer during a Mass offered by a Vincentian priest every week throughout 2027.
I’m writing early to be sure you have ample time to request additional cards. To order more, simply request them here. You may also call 1-800-264-MARY (6279) or visit amm.org.
Please send the names of your loved ones before December 18 so they may be placed at the Shrine by Christmas Day and entrusted to Our Lady’s intercession. When you use the cards, please consider returning a charitable offering to the Association. Your support helps AMM bring the Prince of Peace to our troubled world.
Realizing that Mary embraces us with tender love as Our Heavenly Mother can bring great peace to our hearts. Her Miraculous Medal reminds us of her loving care and her powerful intercession for all who turn to her.
A few years ago, my predecessor Father Kevin McCracken told a story about a store clerk touched by Mary’s love. It all started when a Christmas shopper gave the clerk a Miraculous Medal and shared the story of its origins:
The clerk began wearing the medal faithfully. As Christmas neared, she went to visit her sister, who’d been overcome by sadness near the first anniversary of their mother’s death. The sister would break down in tears on hearing “Ave Maria”—their mother’s favorite song.
The store clerk took off the Miraculous Medal and gave it to her grieving sister. She shared how a stranger had given it to her, the story, and how it had brought her great peace. Her sister gratefully accepted it and has since worn it, saying she feels blessed with hope and encouragement.
Whether through Mary’s Miraculous Medal or prayerful Christmas greetings, God works through our simplest acts of kindness—for loved ones or even strangers in a store. I trust you have several dear friends or family members who would truly appreciate the spiritual offerings in these cards.
Thank you for all you do to bring others to Our Lord through the love of his Blessed Mother. Be assured that our Vincentian family and AMM staff will be praying for you and yours this season.
In the heavenly peace of Jesus,

P.S. Be sure to order extra cards before November 10 to help ensure you receive them in time to mail out for Christmas. And remember to send me the names of your card recipients and loved ones by December 18!
